Re: Was there ever a 28 gauge Fox?

I believe the late John Mann had a 28 gauge built up for his grandsons using a set of unchambered 20 gauge barrels. It could be that is the gun you saw or there may be more than one floating around. I bought an AE-Grade gun from John Mann with a set of 28ga,20ga & 16ga barrels to make it a thre...

Re: Mr. Bill Harris has passed.

I'm so sorry to hear of Billies passing. I only had the pleasure of meeting him once at the spring Tulsa show a few years ago. After that one short meeting I felt that I had just met a very special person. In the months following I learned more of the great contributions he had made to the Fox colle...

Re: Tulsa anyone???

I'll be there in my usual spot. Lower level end cap @ the bottom of the ramp next to the vanilla lady. Angelo Bee will be sharing the tables with us.

Hope to see you there,

Paul

Re: Another Sterlingworth ID

From what I see your gun looks like it has what is commonly refered to as a split head crack. Do yourself a favor and get it to a good stock repair man before you try shooting the gun. This type of repair is fairly common with older SxS shotguns and in most cases they can be repaired so the gun can ...

Re: Would you buy this gun???

Just my 2 cents worth, This gun screams stolen property to me. I'm not saying the seller is the culprit, but it's obvious the serial numbers and manufacture markings have been removed intentionally. If I were to try to do a FFL transfer to the gun shop I use for such things. I'm quite sure they woul...

Re: generic SxS barrel shortening question?

I'm not an expert on such things at all, but here's my thoughts about your situation. For what your going to be doing with the gun. Cutting the barrels shouldn't effect the point of impact very much. Shortening the barrels 5" would probably make a POI change if you had fairly tight chokes and w...

Re: Sterlingworth safety difficult to move...

After you get the stock off. Be sure to clean all the WD-40 you've been squirting it down with out of the action and the wood. WD-40 is probably the worst lubricant on the market for guns. It is a rust preventative " Water Dispersant = WD" and not a very good lubricant. Over time it will e...

Re: Unusual barrel flat stamping - Factory reproof?

I doubt it's a re-proof stamp. It does look like a US ordinance stamp, this gun was probably in US military ordinance for some reason. Either a gunnery practice gun or possible on a military base trap range gun.

Re: Foxy North Dakota Roosters

The other gun pictured is my buddies 1927 A-grade 16 which is one of those sweet heart special foxes. That gun is wearing #4 weight barrels and weighs in at 5 3/4 lbs. The Parker guys can say all they want about the O-Framed 16's being lite, but I've never found one that can compete with some of the...

Foxy North Dakota Roosters

I've had a great pheasant season in North Dakota this year. The birds are a little spotty, but when you find them a Fox get's the job done. Little to no interest????

I wonder why, I've been a member from the beginning and am now a life member and didn't even know at one time you could order Fox apparel. I would have made an order if I had known something about this.
