Re: FOX GUN ROOM BANNERS--Pre-Booking for The Southern

I stopped by the Fox booth during the Southern SXS and inquired about banners for sale. The gentleman at the booth didn't know if they had any still for sale. I would be interested if there are any left. George Moilanen 906 493 5251

I am planning to attend this event for the first time this spring. I've read the website but would like any info from this group on where to stay and what events a first timer should enter. Thanks, George

Re: buttplate pictures

Thanks very much. My SW has a non stock buttplate. I suspect it was restocked in the rear without a grip cap. I think the forend slpinter is stock. With these guns being 90 years old it's hard for them to be original. I can hardly wait to see the factory records for both this SW as well as the XE I ...

Re: SW pistol grip styles

The SW I have is a 12 gauge sn 94203 which falls between 1921-1922. I have requested a letter on it. Perhaps it was restocked but it appears to be a fox stock. Thanks for the replies. George

SW pistol grip styles

I have noticed two different pistol grip styles one with grip cap one without. Does any one know the difference or when or why each where produced. I have a 1922 SW without cap. Thanks George

Cleaning up Sterlingworth

Just bought an oringinal sterlingworth 12 gauge. Gun is in pretty good shape for a 1922 that's been sitting around awhile. Any ideas on how to clean it up would be appreciated. The only porblem is some "ring pitting" in the right bore in the choke area. Otherwise bores seem pretty clean. A...

Re: XE Grade Engraving

Silvers, I am sure that's the same gun. I'm sure it has no collectors value because of the rework. I'm going to clean it up and have it fitted to me for a shooter. It is a much prettier in person than the pics. With a little TLC It will be beautiful. The diamond on the grip cap has to go! George

Re: Best choice as a basis for custom gun

If I were going to spend the $ to have a quality custom fox restoration, I would start with a graded model rather than a SW. I think the long tem value of the gun would more than offset the higher inital acquistion price.
