Re: Strike TWO!!!!

Hi Silvers,
Yep. I'm in western Pa. My cousins live in Harrisburg so I try and catch as many shows down there as I can. Lot more shows around there than up this way.

Strike TWO!!!!

Well I just got back from Harrisburg where I took in a gun show. Came across a Sterlingworth that had different engraving on it and a bolt through the head. I told my cousin I remember reading or seeing something about this style of engraving. So after not buying it and driving home I rooted around ...

Re: Michael McIntosh

Shocked to hear about Mr. McIntosh. He was one of a very few authors who could keep me glued to a book. The way he described guns and places and smells was truely amazing. He will definitely be missed.

Re: low pressure load problems

Hi All,
Thanks for the replys. I've been trying my reloading with Win AA hulls and Rem STS. They both seem to cause the gun to "hang up". I've tried a 6600psi load and had the same sticky results.

Thanks again,
Tim

Re: low pressure load problems

Forgot to add also that I've been shooting RST ammo through it and it has never been sticky to open. I'm using there 2 3/4" Lites.

Re: low pressure load problems

Hi All, It usually hangs when one is fired. But on occasion when both barrels are fired. I have tried Rem. and Win. primers and it doesn't seem to make a difference as to which primer I use. A buddy of mine suggested that maybe the firing pins had been replaced and were a touch longer than they shou...

low pressure load problems

Hi All, I finally picked up my first Fox at the Great Northern SxS shoot this summer from Classic Gunstocks in New York. I've been trying to work up low pressure loads for it ,but everytime I think I've found a winner, I'm rewarded with a sticky action. The loads have ranged from 4700psi -6600psi. U...

Re: Sterlingworth with 30" barrels

Well I'll just keep looking. Heading to 3 gun shows in October. Wish now that I would have bought the pin gun I found for $650. Was in good shape for her age and priced to sell. Oh well, such is life. Thanks for all the replys.

Re: Sterlingworth with 30" barrels

Mornning all,
She was just a 12 ga. in good condition. I use the Blue Book when I'm trying to figure a price. Would that be a good source for figuring a price?

Re: Sterlingworth with 30" barrels

Thanks for the replies. The guy tried telling me it was scarce because of 30" tubes, but something didn't sit right with me when he told me that. Plus his price of $2300. made me laugh. When he told me it was scarce I said why, because it has 30" tubes? And he said yes. Oh well, I 'll find...

Sterlingworth with 30" barrels

Hi all, I just got back from a gun show over the weekend, and after being totally disgusted with the number of crooks out there, can anyone tell me how rare a Sterlingworth with 30" barrels reallly is? From what I've been able to dig up 30" were standard for a while, but i don't know how l...

Hey Brian, Thanks for the reply. I doubt if he'll go that low but I'll try. Heck, I asked him what grade it was and he told me, "it's an Ansley Fox." Duh!! Also told him someone opened the one choke and he asked what I meant. Told him they were usually mod/full, imp/full or full/full at th...
