Bill, 400368, 369, and 370 were all 32" M Grades. 370 came out of Chicago in the 80's, and 368 out of NJ in the 70's. 370 had std 1 1/2 x 2 1/2 drop, LOP 14 3/4", weighed 8 pounds, Full Choke, Silvers Pad, Straight Grip, Full round comb, and the shield in the forend had HCS engraved on it ...

The previous post was focused on 20 gauge guns. I would guess that the 16ga. records would present a similar picture of the amount of short guns produced. Now that there are records in the public domain, it only takes time to do the statistical studies.

THEY WERE MADE! Recently sold an unfired 'CE' 25 incher to a friend(not in the records) and have had a few other short guns over the years. A thorough search of the surviving 20 gauge records shows that 16 ea. 24" 20 gauge A. H. Fox Guns and 9 ea. 25" guns are recorded. 4 ea were 'A' grad...

Original Fox guns built without a safety had a plug in the safety slot and any engraving would just cross the plug like it wasn't there. The safety position detents were also milled in the underside of the top strap as well on Fox Guns built without a safety .
