I also took a drive to Easton to inspect this gun in person. Dents aside, the gun was in pretty good shape. The seller did not mention the slight crack on the right side of the stock but it was an easy fix. I believe the gun was all original. For me, the big question was the barrels. The dents were ...

I think the 16 C had 28" tubes but can't recall for sure. Did anyone else think it had been restocked?

I was there this morning and saw the guns mentioned. I too was eyeballing the C grade 16 but I also need to make some room. The 12ga Skeet and Upland game gun a couple rows over was tempting. I was impressed with the number of decent Foxes there but I still haven't found my 20ga CE with factory stra...

Gorgeous. That is essentially my dream gun. I hope you enjoy many days afield with it. Out of curiosity what does it weigh? I also noticed the slip on pad - what is the LOP?

Nice pics Brian, I especially like the last one.

Is that a single trigger gun?

I think it's an indication of it being shot a good bit. I don't remember opening and closing the action to be difficult.

I forgot to mention the barrels had a nice ring so I'm assuming the ribs are fine.

I live near Frederick.

Anyone looking for a 16ga Philly Sterlingworth?

A local shop has one that could make a nice project gun. Barrels locked up tight but the lever was approaching left of center. Biggest problem I saw was a cracked stock. It appeared to be have been repaired with care and it may be sound to shoot as is. Three weight barrels and I would guess 28"...

Thanks Craig. I'm really sorry I couldn't make it. That's a nice variety of Foxes.

Could someone provide a list of the guns that were on the display table in the 3rd pic along with some basic specs? I can't see a lot of detail but they all look pretty sweet. Any smallbores?

Count me as one who had planned on attending but had to bail at the last minute for a cousin's wedding. I was really looking forward to meeting a couple board members and picking up a new Fox. For those who attend, please, please, please take lots of pictures for the poor saps who couldn't make it.

20ga Fox CEs

Recently, I've been flipping through old DGJs to re-read the Fox articles. Two Foxes in particular that always cause me to stop and stare are the straight stocked, 20ga CEs in the Winter 2006 issue (serial#s 200972 and 202655). The double trigger gun in particular approaches Holy Grail status for me...

Thanks for the replies and encouraging words. Things are in motion and I hope they will work themselves out. If not, I guess it wasn't meant to be.

Well, I went to see the gun in person again this weekend and it is an amazing gun and very, very tempting. The mid bead is something I would not have requested on my order but I can live with it or maybe even remove it. I could use another 1/2" on the LOP but the rounded skeleton butt (ala Park...

I was thinking that was a steal too assuming it wasn't missing any parts and functioned properly.

CSMC Fox

While a custom 20ga CSMC Fox has always been a dream gun for me, I realize a high, 5 figure gun may never be in my future. I have found a used 20ga CSMC Fox that is still rather expensive but might be attainable. With one minor exception (a mid bead), it has all of the features I would order on a cu...
