Re: English Proofs

There is a way to date Birmingham proof marks after 1923 I think it is. There are little letters in the tik tack toe like proofmark which tell the inspector and the years. The books showing all the various proofs of the world will have an explanation. I think I still have this book myself. So if you...

Auction Guyette & Deeter in Feb

I got a gorgeous catalogue today in the mail from Guyette & Deeter of a Feb auction of fine guns, Parkers, Foxes, Win 21, Smiths &c. There were quite a few Foxes including a CE 20 g. with an original skeleton butt. 8-12k estimated, which is not bad. Also an FE and a three barrel (Utica) set ...

Re: Fox Sterlingworth 16 gauge

If it is not too late for the load question, I reload 16 using the 2 3/4 Cheddite cases from Ballistic Products in Mn and their 16 gauge field wad made by Garlandi I think in Italy. You buy these cases primed and then you need to use a little tool to make the primer holes tighter for reloading with ...

Re: Skeet and Upland

I looked at at the Jaquas gun thinking to buy it, and it had a slight looseness to action without fore end and also the barrels were pitted in a number of spots internally. So high price for a not so minty gun at least inside.

Re: Gun smith in western ohio

This is actually for a skeet buddy who has two pre war Webley and Scots BLEs that are doubling and he needs sears made, not a terribly difficult job but the person would have to be pretty good to do it. Many thanks for your suggestions.

Re: Gun smith in western ohio

Thanks very much. The thread was about someone who took a Fox over to Gun Doctor guy in Western Ohio and had ejector fixed while he waited. But now I can't find that posting.

Fox and Parker Trap

A place in Findlay, OH about which i know nothing has a decent looking Fox SB trap for 3800 something. Also a Parker SBT. Website is not too informative but you can get some idea from the pix. Called Buffalo Trading Post, 419-423 4867, 2220 Bright Rd. Findlay. Good hunting.

Re: Do not buy your reloading components here

Others I have experienced as clear scams for reloading supplies are Doddle and Optics and Ammo. This last one has been going for a long time and I don't see how the cops have not shut him down. Another which appears similar is something like "Reloading." When you do a web search for some c...
