Re: Inherited a fox shotgun. Looking for info

Welcome, I also inherited 16 ga. Model B that was my father in law's. That sparked my interest in Fox guns. I now have a small collection of grade guns and one Sterlingworth. Unfortunately, the Model B is not a true Fox, but a rebranded Stevens made by Savage, who bought the Fox Gun Company. The qua...

Re: Forend won't snap on - help!

You can manually cock the hammers with a small flat head screwdriver and this will releave the pressure on the forend so it will snap on,

Re: Finish - Stock 1923 Sterlingworth

While it is wet and soft with stripper, gently scrub along the checkering lines using a brass brisel brush. Then dry with a hand towel. Repeat till the checkering is cleaning. The brass brush will not scar the checkering.

Re: 1934 Utica Sterlingworth and Linseed oil?

Polish with a good grade of furniture wax works great. You might clean with a wood cleaner first. Also Tung Oil, Old English Wood Polish and several other will blend with the old finishes and hide scratches and worn places. Lowes and Home Depot carry a selection.

Yoke replacement

I need to replace the yoke on a 12ga. CE. It looks like its straight forward, but is there any instructions or tutorial available. I just don't want to overlook something.
