Re: stock "cheeks" separating at receiver
From your description, it sounds like the webbing has cracked ... Had the same on an A Grade that I purchased a few years ago. I sent the gun to Doug Carpenter and the repair was a success. Try the following link or do a search on my login name "David D" on the Shotgun World forum and you ...

Very disappointing sleep last night, every time I heard a noise I thought it might be Eightbore trying to get in to my dream.

I had a dream ...
I had a dream last night, met some folks that had a B Grade Fox. The dream was very detailed, bluing was 100%, case colors were perfect, checking exquisite, English stock, oil finish ... Then I notice the barrels are numbered, I ask if there is a second set of barrels, to which they say, " oh y...

Re: 20-ga. Sterlingworth Special
I would have to say you have created one of the best looking guns I have ever seen. I have plans to create a custom Fox and you have certainly set the bar very high!
You've had the gun for a few months now, how are you using it and would you do anything differently?
Regards, dave

Re: You pushed me over the edge!
I think we should start a "new" rule ... If you purchase a Fox and want to post here, you must provide a picture.
How do really know that own a Fox? BTW, I purchased my first recently and I've not felt the same since ... Congrats, now post a picture please.
Regards, Dave

Re: Barrel firing sequence
go to the Homepage and there is a great step by step tutorial on disassembling your Fox. I disassebled my Fox last week for the first time and it was simple. You should utilize gunsmith screw drivers (not tappered) or you may bugger up your screws. I bought a cheap ($30) set at the gun shop that wor...

Re: My First Post & Fox
So, folks talk about #3, #4 barrel weights ... What does this indicate? Is it overall barrel weight and if so, is there an advantage (performance, reliability, longer life)?? I thought I'd ask the experts.
Thanks, Dave

Re: My First Post & Fox
Well, I talked to a few different gunsmiths wrt repairing my stock and decided to send it to Doug Carpenter @ Capenter's Custom Gunstocks, which is located in Ohio. I talked to Doug on the phone regarding the repair and decided to ship it to him so he can give it a thorough inspection and decide wha...

Re: My First Post & Fox
David don't even think about pinning it. A good stock man can fix that damage so that it is stronger than new and the repair will be invisable. When you ship the gun for repair you will need to send the receiver as well so the smith can glass bed the stock to the receiver so I recommend you send it...

Re: My First Post & Fox
Guys, I really appreciate all of the help ... I was looking at the gun this morning and decided to take it apart in order to determine exactly what is damaged/broken on the stock. Picked up a gunsmith kit at the local gun shop for $30 and breaking the gun down was a breeze. I used the disassembly in...
