Re: Vintage Gun Cup

The new DE is cleaning up nicely. Some careful work with a little Acetone and some Q-Tips on the checkering (thanks Frank for the tip!), and 100 years of grime came out! :D It knocked the awful sheen off and revealed more of the checkering. Bottom pic is before, and the top is after a little cleaning!

Re: Vintage Gun Cup

Bill, Thanks so much for posting those pictures! The screws were a topic of conversation at the show, and Kevin and I were discussing them while Tom Kidd was in the booth, and he mentioned your DE having the same setup. I know Frank and I both were curious about what they looked like removed, so I a...

Re: Vintage Gun Cup

Thanks for posting all of the pics Tom and Steggy! Wanted to post the highlight of my weekend, the gun that Frank mentioned in his post above, my new DE Grade Fox! I'll let you check the pictures for the "unusual" part about this gun before giving it away. It only took 15 years, but I fina...

Re: Vintagers

For those wondering about the 20ga Sterly with 32” barrels, I was fortunate to be the one to spot her first! As it was purchased from a dealer, I’ll have to wait for it to be shipped to my local FFL, but I was able to take it out and shoot it this weekend while I was there. I’ve got a few cellphone ...

Because he's not a member of the AHFCA! Sounds like he could have done a lot better research just reading our forums.

Re: Rebuilding a Super-Fox

This was the perfect gun for you Frank. I don't know anyone else with your knowledge and appreciation for the Super Fox, with the ability to breathe new life back into her as you have. Thanks for taking the time to post the progress, and glad you're documenting the work. Can't wait to see it when yo...

Re: THE RESULTS ARE IN!!!!

Dr. Evil, did you mean THIS target? Funny how it looked as big as a trash can lid when I was shooting at it. I guess I can take some comfort in knowing that I did actually hit it, but I'm still kicking myself for it. Not that I could have hit that B bird (once you changed it) at 80 yards in ...

Southern Side by Side and Drake Landing

For those of you traveling to the Southern, just a reminder to come shoot with us at Drake Landing (25min from the Southern) on Thursday if you're going to be in town early. As usual, Dan Andrews is going to have lunch available for us, and two 100 station sporting clays courses and five stand ready...

Brad Bachelder

Perusing the Fox page on Facebook today, I saw an obit for Brad Bachelder, who evidently passed on the 21st of this month. Lots of discussion on the Parker Forum about Brad, and having photographed Gary Carmichael's Parker Hammer gun collection a few years ago, I've been exposed to a lot of his work...

Mike, she's a beautiful pup! Had a setter with her color growing up named Rusty. Can't wait to see her in person in August. How big will she be?

Re: Reunite Fox A Grade Serial # 24423 second set.

I'm responding here to push this one to the top. Alan posted this originally, but I've now owned these barrels and forearm for some time. I can't pass by an AE 12 gauge on a dealers table or website without checking the serial number. They snap right onto a C grade I have like they were made for it,...

Re: Long forend

Daryl, we ran across that gun while we were at Morrison Pines in Moultrie two years ago. We stopped by Kevin's Guns over lunch to look around and there it was. I found the notes on it when I got home tonight. The gun was serial number 203003 and also had a Miller single trigger in rear position. The...

Re: Long forend

It's not an HE, but I've pulled the order card for a 32" AE 20 gauge gun that I came across, and it called for the forearm to be "full + 10 1/4 inches long". The longer forearm looks good on those 32" guns, and especially on the smaller framed 20ga with those long tubes. Knowing ...
