THE RESULTS ARE IN!!!!

Post by Mike of the Mountain »

The final results are in for the annual Bo Whoop/WC Letterman Cups and the Fox-Lefever Challenge.

After the qualifier rounds were shot, and many shooters commented on how easy the targets were, Dr. Evil put his final plan into play and turned up the heat quite a few degrees!!

The WCL Had Britt Condon, David deFernelmont, Frank Srebro and Mike Smith vying for the coveted top spot and the payout that accompanied the top 3 spots.

Here are the results:
David deFernelmont HOA $90
Britt Condon RU $54
Frank Srebro 3rd $36 WCL Champpion with the high Fox gun previously owned by trap champion George Emmons!!

The Bo-Whoop had Britt Condon and David deFernelmont vying for HOA and for the 3rd spot we had Daryl Corona (28g Parker), Mike Smith and Dave Wunrow.

Here are the results:
Britt Condon HOA $223
David deFernelmont RU $134 David was the Bo-Whoop Champ with the high Fox gun, an A grade!!
Mike Smith 3rd $90

A HUGE shout out to Mike Smith for shooting a 9/10 on the Bo-Whoop with his Hellis .410!!!!!!!!! FYI, he missed the easiest target in the event. We did happen to find it later in the day with 1 hole punched through it. Sorry, lost bird, no visible chip!!!!

The Fox-Lefever Challenge was shot by 10 qualified shooters from the 5-Stand event.

Team Fox was:
Mike Smith
Dave Wunrow
David deFernelmont
Dick Mider
Stan Hoover

Team Lefever was:
Fred Veery
Mike Koneski
Frank Srebro
John Brownell
Daryl Corona

In a hard fought contest Team Fox bested Team Lefever by a score of 107-100!! Well shot gents!!

Congrats to all the guys who shot in the final shoot-offs and a big thank you to everyone who shot the qualifiers and the practice rounds. A big thank you also too Isiaih and Matt for being our trappers and to Steve Cambria and Jim Malone for your immoral support and pitching in over the weekend!! Nice job all!!

We hope to see you all at Rock Mountain, August 2-5 and at Hopkins for the Vintagers, September 21-23. See you soon. Until then, keep your head on the wood and your eye on the bird!!

BTW, Steve Cambria and Mike Smith will be posting many pics from the weekend.

Thanks Mike for the quick summary.

JFI - Mike made a change this year on the shootoffs to keep them from dragging on and on = "Miss-and-Out" as in the old time live bird shoots.

Nice job Mike and Steve. Mike is of course our shooting coordinator for the Bo-Whoop and W C Letterman events. And in addition to running the B-W and WCL on Thursday, Steve (Toolman) is our lead man on the Fox - Lefever Challenge along with Dr. Bob of Lefever.

Well, let me tell you, this novice thoroughly enjoyed watching the Fox - Lefever shoot off. What really amazed me was the variety of guns used. There were short barrels, long barrels, open chokes and tight chokes, but everyone shot really, really well. I guess it supports the old adage, "pick out a gun and learn how to shoot it." :)

Good job guys! I thought you had to shoot a Super Fox in the Bo Whoop Challenge, but I guess not. I want to shoot my Super in it one of these days

Dr. Evil, did you mean THIS target? Funny how it looked as big as a trash can lid when I was shooting at it. I guess I can take some comfort in knowing that I did actually hit it, but I'm still kicking myself for it. Not that I could have hit that B bird (once you changed it) at 80 yards in the shoot off with my .410 but I would have given it the old college try.

Yes Mike, that would be the target!! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! BTW, if you would have hit that "B" bird with the .410 you would have been declared the winner w/o another shot being fired. :D
