What do we think the percentage of SBT guns is WITH a safety vs. WITHOUT a safety??? Frankly, I thought they were all safety-less but I just saw one with a safety onboard.

Re: Single Barrel Trap
Tom, I don't know the answer to your question on production percentage. But I will say that I've had three Fox SBT guns apart, all without safety buttons. All three had the milling cuts under the upper frame tang for the safety components = unnecessary work for a safety-less gun. That tells me that Fox could turn out a SBT gun with safety, on order with very little extra work. Silvers

Re: Single Barrel Trap
That is some piece of news. I have never noticed the filled safety cut. I'll have to get mine out and look. Tom, what's the story on the SBT with the safety? Is it for sale?

Re: Single Barrel Trap
Bill, I may not have written that clearly enough. I wrote that the milling cuts are there under (not through) the upper frame tang. These are the radiused mill cuts that hold the safety in the fire and safe positions. The cut through the top frame tang for the actual safety button isn't there. Therefore there is not a plugged slot. However doing the slot would be an easy milling operation with a slitting cutter if someone ordered a Fox SBT with safety. As I wrote, the rest of the underneath milling is already done - at least it was on the three guns I had apart.
P.S. I did not see a hole for a safety pushrod, or other provision for pushing the safety backward when the gun is opened, therefore I am thinking that any Fox SBT ordered with a safety was probably supplied with an independent (non-auto) safety button. That of course makes sense for a trap gun. Silvers

Re: Single Barrel Trap
Pan Silvers, thanks for the info, neat. The one I just got out of the closet has no safety. It's an early J.
Murph, like I said, the one I was just lucky to find is, in fact, safety-less.....but it has a nice amt of original condition. I posted the card a few weeks ago...400082. Ive got to get some RST's and get it on the trap field. The one that I saw with a safety was/is offered by ...it was on their website, found it on Google last nite.
