Yes, he has a very nice Gough era B with factory 3” chambers and a straight grip. However, he did not bring it on this trip,

So how is his B marked? Is it stamped 3in on the barrel flat or is it mentioned in the letter? Inquiring minds want to know.

I can’t remember if it’s stamped, but it is called out on the card.
I posted a copy of the letter in the Spring 2022 Newsletter. On an interesting side note, I took a “screen shot” of the Newsletter page and then I had to use the “app” to compress the picture.

Re: Properly oriented cell phone pics
The Fox proprietary 3 IN. stamp was only used on Super-Fox/HE Grade guns. I’ve only seen one other non-Super with that 3 IN. stamp in the proper size font and that one had a strong connection with an employee at the Utica factory. Otherwise, Foxes that were ordered for 3-inch shells were not stamped as such even though the Record Card indicates so. Hence any Fox (other than a righteous 3 IN. Super) that has any sort/variation of 3-inch stamping should be viewed with skepticism and is probably bogus. frank

Here’s a righteous Fox 3 IN. line stamp indicating the special tight chambering for Super-Fox guns. Note sizing, font, spacing and how the stamped characters are in perfect alignment. Nothing else will do. frank
