DGJ I&R arrived in NOVA land today. Interestingly, no prior routing info, notifications, or other in-route notations (per some earlier posters) were received along the way - it just showed up in the regular mail. Kevin

Got mine yesterday, Harry, and posted that information. Fortunately, I was not part of the criticism of the Cotes. Shame on those that were.

This afternoon I returned home from a week at my cottage and there was the DGJ waiting for me at my doorstep. Wow! This should keep me busy for a long time. Hats off to the Cote family for putting it together.

First thing I did was to scan the index (well, after mowing the lawn) and then immediately went to Phil Yearout’s article on 16’s. As a longtime fan of the 16, I can really relate to this article, and Phil is a great writer. Nice job Phil!

Funny thing… on page 111 there is a picture of President Grover Cleveland with a mess of ducks. Great picture! Then on page 237 we can see the same picture, but caption says President Benjamin Harrison (looks like Cleveland to me). Oh well, poop happens. I’m looking forward to reading these articles and dreaming of a bygone day when presidents could sit out in a marsh and shoot ducks with a beautiful SxS. My how times have changed.

Additional note: I just read both of Wayne C. Capooth’s articles regarding President Cleveland and President Harrison. Both presidents sure had a lot of fun duck hunting, and Mr. Capooth did a lot of research. Ya just gotta love the golden days of duck hunting.
Shoot vintage firearms, relax, and have fun.

Daryl, this may not be a "conclusion". I'm sure Dan has articles in the hopper for another 400 plus page hardback. Not as much hassle as a monthly publication, and even more interesting. I also kind of liked the previous format where the authors introduced themselves through an autobiographical article "with Parkers". There are many entries on the "In Appreciation" list who have not written or been written about. I, personally, would buy another Reader, without index.

Bill,

What I was referring to was the perceived angst among the subscibers that if they didn't get their DGJ thingy that the world would cease to rotate. Mr. Cote said it was on it's way. That should be good enough. But...I'm glad you all got it and are enjoying it. Now wasn't it worth the wait? :)

There were plenty of posts over the past two years on the long awaited Index and Reader but curiously I haven’t seen much here since folks received their copy about a month ago. So …… what is your feedback on its presentation and content? Any articles of particular interest to Foxers? frank

Well Everybody who had ordered a copy should have received their copy by now. And must have read
their copy's already , because I have seen them for ''resale'' already in a few places for less money than the original price.
