It is a 32" barrel (actually 31.5) with about 36 pts of choke, full pistol grip with nice dimensions. I grabbed two boxes of RST "maxilite" 1oz loads and gave it whirl. Wowee! This gun produced 2 scores of 24 broken targets at the 16 yd line....no fuss, no muss. They should have both been 25s but for "operator error". I have shot thousands of rounds of 12ga shells on the trapline and never did I have so much fun as with that ol' Fox and those RST shells. I'm used to getting punched by the "hot" Nitro 27 loads...these maxilites are sooo pleasant to shoot while busting the targets with authority. I will be buying many more cases of RST 1 oz. shells. The trigger on the gun breaks crisply and it seemed to give me a "margin of error" as I had a couple of nice breaks when I really didnt think I was where I shoulda been!
Hopefully we will get a A.H. Fox Trap squad together for some friendly "gun maker's competition" at Hausmann's....I know some of my fellow AHFCA members have some of these guns stashed away. I suspect we could put a hurtin on the Parker, LC, Ithaca challengers.
If some of you boys have never been to Hausmann's try to make it to this shoot. It is a special venue with great targets ( including our own Bo-Whoop), lots of vendors, great food & most of all really nice people. Stop by and say hello....if I'm not at my vendor table, I'm out shooting.
Jolly, I'll have the Heinies on hand....with a glass.
