Re: Foxes in the Field
Thanks for posting the pics of this fine Fox arsenal, I always have trouble. How long did it take to clean your 80 Eurasions? I spent a half hour cleaning mine. Let's do it again next weekend. My stock looks really light next to your's and Larry's. We should take all the Foxes out next time, the 20 ...

Re: A Fox gets the game! (Doesn’t it always!?)
Fox always gets the game! Great gun and dog combo. I too had a Molly. She was a black and white 35lb English Setter. Shot over her many hunts with a 1922 Fox Sterly 16.

Re: ejector problem
Tony, I mentioned earlier that the problem may be in the forend. Why don't you remove the wood on the forend and snap the iron back on the gun and see if the ejectors are cocking and functioning properly. I had the same problem and found too much bedding under the ejector springs, not allowing the e...

Re: original pad
You mentioned your ejectors on another post and I commented, but you didn't give me an answer. Are you sure It's not something other than your ejector? The springs that push the ejectors are pretty stout and will fire a slightly bent ejector. Are you positive both ejectors are being cocked? I'm miss...

Re: Complete disassembly - Sterlingworth
I took both of mine apart down to the hammers and soak all the metal in a solution called "Ed's Red" for a day. Blow out the receiver , wipe off the parts, lube and assemble. I coat moving parts with G96 then wipe.

Re: ejector problem
Tony, did you do or have any work done on the fore end? Like refinish, or fix cracks in the wood below the ejector springs. I had my 16 refinished and the fellow bedded the bottom of my fore end on the inside to fill cracks. I had the same problem. my ejectors would not cock. I took a narrow chisel ...

Re: Two Quarters Trick?
Easy fix , call Jason, most likely he has NOS. I've bought parts from him and he's very helpful. knock your retaining pin through just far enough to allow the broken hammer free. Don't forget to remove the screw from the retaining pin. I use a screw driver to compress the stirrup spring when putting...

Good job Tony! Good thing you mentioned that you shot them with the 16! Don't say the .410 word like I did, these guys will laugh at you, except for Mike of the Mountain, he's cool and a believer in "the indian" rather than "the arrow". I've shot my Sterly 16 these past few weeks...

You're right, my other Sterly has the shorter of the two. Silvers, I'm having trouble posting the pics, any other way than Photo Bucket?

Re: Back trigger not cocking
Mills, pull the trigger plate and the hammers are exposed. Check the stirrup that pushes the hammer, then check for any obstruction between the sear and hammer notch. My stirrup was worn through at the pin and was barely hanging on. Cleaning is a plus, it should be an easy fix. Lots of good advice o...

Re: Hammer Stirrips
Bobby, I have both sizes. I think there are only 2 sizes. Jason Barton sent me both. Thanks again for your tips on the refinish, still trying to figure out how to downbload the pics.

Actually I have the 16 together and have hunted with it these past two weeks. I did use the longer one and it works great. I'll get the pics posted soon. Thanks again!
