Re: card shoot with a wildfowl
Thanks for the reply. At the turkey shoots I wrote about they supplied the shotgun shell as you paid your entry fee ($1.00) so everyone was shooting from the same box of shells. I don't remember what size shot but I'm sure it was "low brass" to save money. The first time I shot my friend s...

Re: card shoot with a wildfowl
Would you mind explaining what a Card Shoot is? Back in the 60's in NC the turkey shoots I went to had a 8" X 10" sheet of paper with a small X in the middle set up at 40 yds. Ten shooters per session each shot at their own target. The one with a pellet closest to the tiny X won the turkey...

Re: Anyone try this 16 gauge ammo??
Hmm, I wonder if it would have enough oomph to cycle my Grandfather's 1935 Browning A5 with a 2 9/16" chamber?

PSA: Jason Barden and Fox Parts company thread.
I just thought I'd pass this on and hopefully not break any rules here. I was on Shotgunworld.com's website and saw a post by Jason Barden on Dec 12th that he is open again and has over 100k parts for Fox shotguns from 1905 to 1940. I don't know if this is legit or not and if you already know about ...

Researcher, would it help if I gave you the info on my Sterlingworth to add to your recordings?

Someone got a great deal on a Sterlingworth.
Just saw on another forum where a member was selling an inherited Sterlingworth, circa 1928, in great shape for $350.00. It was a 12 gauge with 30" barrels. It was jumped on pretty quickly of course. That was quite a nice find.

Re: The Webb Farm Ellerbe NC
Great pic. How is the quail hunting in NC now? I know the population was really down. Are they making a comeback?

Silvers, none of my posts were meant to be "snarky" as you seem to think but were an attempt to add a little humor. Don't get your panties in a bunch over something so trivial. Life is too short.

Re: a fox in camoflage or winner of ugliest fox award
Whoever it was most likely had no idea that he had a classic in his possession and just thought it was a run of the mill double gun. Such a shame!

Thanks for your replies. So far, I've only heard positive feedback about them. Now I gotta go measure the distance between the holes. I keep forgetting how far apart they are.

NC Ordnance?
Is anyone here familiar with a company called NC Ordnance? They have buttplates advertised on Guns America for $15.00 that are guaranteed to fit. I need one for my 12 ga Sterlingworth and didn't have a very good experience with Conn. shotguns or whatever when I ordered one from there. Anyone ever de...

Ashley Fox?
I was watching the Outdoor Channel this week and they were doing a show on double barrels. One of the "researchers" kept referring to Mr. Fox as Ashley Fox. Come on! If you are going to do that kind of research at least get the name right. He did have nice things to say about Foxes however.
