Re: The Webb Farm Ellerbe NC
I've never hunted quail, but it sure looks like fun. Nice picture
Shoot vintage firearms, relax, and have fun.

Re: The Webb Farm Ellerbe NC
Jeff, I grew up in eastern NC in the 50s and 60s when quail were plentiful. My farther was a bird hunter ( quail hunter) and we had bird dogs, usually pointers and setters. On my 11th Christmas my father gave me my first shotgun ( Stevens 311) and my first own bird dog (English Setter). Still consider that Christmas my best ever.

A scene close to my heart, Bill. Thanks for posting. This is the kind of landscape I've spent my entire 69 years living and hunting in. I never tire of it.

Great pic. Would have like to seen the original house that was attached to that chimney in its prime. Old foundations seem to always hold birds whether they are in the midwest or the NE or the SE.

Having grown up in the South where everyone understands that "bird hunting" means bobwhite quail, this pic reminds me of a lot of days afield with a Setter named Ringo. Thanks for posting!

Man I wish Virginia was like that still. It all went away in the 80s for us. Will always remember the dogs we hunted over: Bob, Jap, Rusty, Champ, Dixie, Bucky, Buster, and some that I can't remember because I was young then.

Great pic. How is the quail hunting in NC now? I know the population was really down. Are they making a comeback?
