Re: MICRO-GAUGED

Makes me sorry about my conservative bid on the Skeet and Upland at the Guyette auction. May have been one of the better buys at the sale, but I'm selling, not buying.

Re: Ridiculously heavy loads

I believe it was Nitro Cartridge Company that marketed 12 gauge loads well in excess of 2 ounces and 10 gauge 3 ounce loads. I owned some Nitro loads but can't remember what they were. I don't know if I ever shot any.

The advantage of "claiming" one of your birds for another shooter is that you can help him locate the dead bird from your stand rather than walking out into the field. Yup, and it allows you an extra bird or two.

Re: Hunting Season(s) Approaching - What gun(s) will go with you for opening day?

Because of my not so recent debilitated condition, I will be content to wander into the dove field with my sporting clays cart and my Nash Buckingham lettered HE, loaded with common 3-1 1/8-7 1/2 trap loads. When I connect with my first long range bird, I will shout, "Great shot" and wait ...

Re: 2024 Vintage Cup

Frank's post was a delightful look into the past, a past that will never be equaled. It was a great several years. The Willows Motel on the state line was an experience in itself. When Kim and Niles Wheeler decided to give up their booth, it was a well kept secret that Kim invited anyone who wished ...

Re: Fox 20

Most Fox guns on internet sales sites described as Deluxe are not original Deluxe guns. No, it is not worth extra money to buy these guns if the surcharge is more than a few bucks. The recoil pad will actually be a deduction in value. Recasing the gun unless it is a 100% restoration by a known firm ...

Re: Lefever 16 G-grade

That is quite a find. It would be a good mate to my 28" Royal Steel 10 gauge light bird gun. It is also a G Grade.

I hadn't heard about Daniel's son's death. What is the story?

Re: "This is Sxxt"

I'm surprised that Craig mentioned name recognition and brand when appraising lower grade guns. Certainly condition ranks right up there also. I have two Remington hammer guns that have never been hunting, as near new as any I've seen. One is an 1882 and the other an 1889. They have honored places i...

Re: SP- & SPE-Grade Folder

OK, Dave, is a repro worth $76 or $202? Maybe it was real.

Re: SP- & SPE-Grade Folder

$202.50 for a reproduction folder? Something fishy about the whole auction. Dave is the $200.00 bidder or maybe the $76.00 bidder and got outbid? I assume that one of them was Dave's bid from his description. I assume the bidders thought the folder was not a repro.

Stan is watching the obituaries for my name. He will hound "The Lovely Linda" to buy my 30" .410 Skeeter. He will put it to better use than I have.

Nash Buckingham in Canada

Does anyone remember which of Nash's books tells of his bird and duck hunting trip to Canada? I want to reread that book but can't remember which one it is. Thanks.
