Re: Tom Kidd

I too am very disappointed that Tom gave up on DGJ. Maybe some day he will tell us about it.

Re: Double Gun Journal

Frank, Dan refused to run the second part of my John Phillip Sousa series because it covered Sousa's Model 10 Remington. The Remington Society Journal did a great job with the second of the Sousa series. I and Tom Breeden would have been better to give the RSA both articles. Dan missed out on an art...

Those who volunteered to proofread work for free and pay their own hotel bills. We are a friendly organization.

Re: Double Gun Journal

I just wish that Dan had taken some of us up on our offers to assist with proofreading. The errors are not particularly embarrassing but they are not particularly rare either. I am enjoying my Volume 111 very much.

I remember the IX Center shows. How many years has it been since OGCA has been there? Will that be the permanent venue now?

Re: Fox Sterlingworth 12 ga

I had forgotten that Sterlingworth Wildfowls had the Deely forend latch. Frank said what I was reluctant to say, "That is not a Wildfowl". If I had said that, I may have been putting my foot in my mouth. Thanks, Frank.

Re: Fox Sterlingworth 12 ga

The little silver disc on the forearm indicates that your gun probably has ejectors but a picture of the breech face would confirm that. A Savage era Sterlingworth 12 gauge is not a collector's dream, but a little work on the rust and tarnish would make this gun a nice shooter. A brown ejector gun w...

Re: Mid year 2025 Fox shooting and collecting review

No selling so far this year. I have unsuccessfully bid on a few internet guns. It's amazing how much competition there is on internet auctions. I am pretty satisfied with the XE I bought on the net last year. By the way, when does Josh stop taking consignments for the September auction?

Re: Double Gun Journal

Daryl, this may not be a "conclusion". I'm sure Dan has articles in the hopper for another 400 plus page hardback. Not as much hassle as a monthly publication, and even more interesting. I also kind of liked the previous format where the authors introduced themselves through an autobiograp...

Got mine yesterday, Harry, and posted that information. Fortunately, I was not part of the criticism of the Cotes. Shame on those that were.

Received my Index and Reader Volume lll today. I am pleased. By the way, I got no shipping notice, didn't expect to since Joanna does not have my email address as far as I know.
