Well that pretty much wraps it up for 2025 and I once again want to thank everyone who helped not only trapping and scoring but took the time shoot, some multiple times. Let's make next year bigger and I'll try to make it better.

Thanks,
Daryl

Very well done my friend, it went off without a hitch. I still see that B bird in my sleep LOL.

Not one shooter from the BoWhoop/Letterman/BigWhoop stand could figure out how to break the B bird consistently. Most even struggled from the BabyWhoop to break it except Mr. Kiska. Steggy did manage to break it a few times.
I would have loved to stayed there with a couple boxes of shells to figure it out. Then again, maybe the B bird will reappear next year. I can be proud of the B.

Craig,
That’s my problem….I couldn’t even see the B bird when I was standing there!!!! I took a practice round with my J Grade Trap gun and shot 5 straight trying to break the B bird and never put a pellet on the target!!! :-)

In my opinion that target required 7 1/2's. We found a number of birds in the field with one or two holes in them.

Daryl is right on. I watched several BW and WCL shooters using rather light loads (velocity and shot charge). That "B bird" was a very long crosser, on edge and with constantly changing trajectory. Sure, you had to be on the right lead and could break it with most any load, but why not increase the odds? Ime that was the max permissible load of 1-1/8 ounce of 7-1/2's. I used Fiocchi 3 DE Trap loads. frank

No matter the load, it must be placed in the right place. The B target had a lot going for it. The shooter was shooting downhill, the bird was not going as fast as it seemed and it was going slightly away from the shooter although it seemed to be a 90* crosser. I was proud of my baby.

For what it’s worth, I was using modern loads consisting of 1 1/8th oz of 7 1/2 pellets.

I do recall someone breaking that B bird with a small bore hammer gun a few times during set up day. I think the folks there on Wednesday were witnesses.

Just wanted to prove it was breakable. It was using 7 1/2's in a 3/4oz. load so the heavier loads should have had a much better chance using the ''bigger is better" theory. Ernie, when he sets a course, uses a .410 to prove they can be broken.

KUDOs to Daryle for the whole setup. While trapping for these events I watched some of the best shooters, I have ever had the privilege of watching shoot get continually flummoxed by that B bird. And it is a tribute to those same shooters that they didn't just throw in the towel after one try, as many of them took up the challenge and threw bunches of money in Daryle's direction in an effort to figure that bird out. Congrats to those who broke a couple, but I don't think anybody mastered it.
