Re: Vicknair Restorations?
Yeah, he wasted a year and a half of my life hanging on to my gun that he never started. Now I have to start over from scratch with another year + wait. Just great.... Your LIFE? Seriously? I informed you a month ago that I would be going out of business, how about you come and pick up your gun? Ch...

Re: Another Sterlingworth Restock?
I actually took the gun to Dewey for evaluation and inspection about a year ago. He said it was in great shape. I was not sure if he did his own stocking or if he was strictly did mechanics.

Another Sterlingworth Restock?
I'm ready to make the plunge on restocking my 1913 Sterlingworth. The gun is in great shape and I want to convert it to a straight stock. I am looking for recomendations for FIRST RATE work. Prerably in the Pennsylvania area. I will also be opening the chokes and barrels polished and reblued. Any su...

Factory Letters?
I recently sent away for a Callahan letter on my Fox.
May I ask, what is Mr. Callahan's background and relationship with Savage/Fox? Or, how does he have access to the factory records?
Thanks-

I must have missed something here - PM's between the two of you? In any case the rear tang screw must be tight, possibly the most important thing you can do on an old Fox. Otherwise you chance splitting the stock under recoil. If the shank protrudes from the tang after tightening - and that bothers...

Erik, does the dressed screw end at the rear of the safety stick out past the area around it? If it does then it may be in too far. Take a look at the disassembly procedures on the Home page. Then look at # 4 in the list for how to correct. Very simple if this is the cause. Hope this helps. Mike Mi...

1912 SW Weight-Chambers-Chokes?
I am new to the board and recently posted below "Newbie SW Serial". My new 16 ga gun has ga. 28" bbls and weighs 5lb 12.5 oz. Serial # 3504## > I learned was mfg in 1912-13. Chokes: There are no choke markings at all. Was there a 'standard' for how this gun might have been choked i.e....

Newbie Sterlingworth Serial ?
Help me determine the age of my new gun. I just aquired a Sterlingworth non-pin gun. 16 ga. 28" bbls weighs 5lb 12.5 oz. Serial # 3504## There are no other significant markings. This number preceeds any numbers on the serial # list on the gunshop.com link! Any clues would be appreciated. Thanks...
