Re: Stumped, Savage Sterly with half round grip?

Another pic of the smaller parts I just took. They need a ultrasonic bath badly. PS. Lots of resolution. Just click on the pic.

Re: Stumped, Savage Sterly with half round grip?

Frank, May have some of the nomenclature incorrect. Attached is the one pic they provided showing everything. I knew no trigger guard was there and also one hammer was gone. What I really wanted was the complete ejector forearm and the ejector barrels. The buttstock was a pure bonus as I didn't thin...

Stumped, Savage Sterly with half round grip?

I recently bought a Savage Sterly 16 gauge for parts. No receiver was included. This was a police confiscation and the company contracted to do the destruction is allowed to sell all the left over parts minus the receiver. I decided to take a stab at it just for those parts. What I got was a set of ...

Re: Hausmann’s June 2025

Sadly I’ll be in Ireland and will miss the Northern SxS again. I always enjoyed shooting Rock Mountain it has a nice mix of presentations in addition the trampoline birds and of course those high birds coming off the mountain that make it all so easy to ride them too long. Trampoline Birds ?? DO YO...

Re: Fox Sterlingworth 12 ga

My grandfather and great grandfather were paniolo (Hawaiian word for cowboy) of Portuguese decent in Hawaii. Grandpa passed in 2009. I was told the gun was purchased new around 1936 or 1937. Grandpa was ambidextrous. He played baseball (bat and throw), polo and roped lefthanded. He wrote and shot r...

Re: Thank you to VATURKEY (TomT)Loose rear tang screw diagnosis

Update to this. Was shooting the flatside on Saturday at 5 Stand and after the first shot the safety would go back on safe. Continued to use the gun and on double's I'd shoot the gun and then push the safety off safe while swinging on the second bird. Actually shot very well, but I had them switch f...

Always a pleasure to man the booth with Kevin and others to answer questions and explain the merits of A. H. Fox shotguns. I always enjoy it.

Re: New to me foxes (Sterlingworths)

Very nice. The 20 gauge may already have 2 3/4" chambers. Many of the Savage guns did.

Re: Mid year 2025 Fox shooting and collecting review

PS. RST is loading some 9 shot 2.5 inch 16 gauge shells soon and I have a flat headed my way. Sadly my local Isac Walton only allows size 9s for clay shooting and no one in the USA sells 16 gauge loaded with size 9s. Nothing new for me yet. Saving my scheckles for an XE20 a friend has which he is &...

Re: Mid year 2025 Fox shooting and collecting review

Added 2 so far and sold 3 and have a couple more in Josh Lowensteins upcoming auction in Sept. The two I added are a late Savage made A Grade 16 gauge Fox with 30 inch barrels and a super late Savage made Flat Side Sterlingworth Deluxe in 12 gauge with 28 inch barrels. PS. RST is loading some 9 shot...

Bill, I believe the trap was 60 yards away. I believe landing spot was about 65 yards away. Target was a long crossed that was dropping. I could be a few yards off.

Re: 2025 BoWhoop station results

I do recall someone breaking that B bird with a small bore hammer gun a few times during set up day. I think the folks there on Wednesday were witnesses.

Re: Hausmann’s June 2025

Great score well done Team Fox!! Update. I believe Mike Smith won the Bo-Whoop event and the Letterman Cup event. Not sure regarding the mini Bo-Whoop. My recollection is that Mike Smith won the Bo-Whoop Long Range shoot. I don't know his gun details. Frank Silvers won the Letterman Cup event for s...
