Re: Early Fox Guns
I have a nice C grade with two barrel sets. I don’t care much about when it was made. The AGrade is just trading stock.

Re: Early Fox Guns
my mistake. I went to the doublegun shop site and 1911 appeared as the first year of production. So mine is the ninth gun made in 1911. Big whoop!

Early Fox Guns
As many of you know, Fox serial numbers started at number 18700 when Fox began production at the Philadelphia factory in 1911. I have # 18709, a 12Ga AE 30” gun. Are there records of other early guns, especially 0 through 8? Interestingly, this gun recently was brought in from Canada.

2nd Barrel Set Fox AE 29661 SOLD
This barrel set was obtained in the Lancaster, PA area. Perhaps the rest of the gun is there too. Here are photos: http://www.gunbroker.com/item/560230209 SOLD.

CE triggers will pull on snap cap but not live ammo
I had a CE fitted with a set of shotguns from another gun, as well as have the receiver casehardened and new wood. When I finally got the gun back after almost 5 years, the triggers will pull on snap caps or an empty chamber, but not on live ammo. I tried B&P, RST, Win AA and others with the sam...

Re: Fox A grade with split ejectors but extractor fore end
The right ejector has a different serial number than the rest of the gun. I'm sure they were installed after manufacture, although why I can't imagine.

Fox A grade with split ejectors but extractor fore end
I recently acquired an AH Fox 12GA 30" with separated extractors to accommodate ejectors but with an extractor fore end. As you can see from the attached photo, the receiver, barrel and fore end serial numbers match. Could this be something as simple as separated extractors being added aftermar...

Bore dimensions on 12GA Foxes
I've noticed that early Fox guns have bore dimensions around .725 while the later guns from the Savage era are larger, about .730. Is there a breakpoint on the bore dimension change?

Using a Fox for a slug gun
I have a mechanically good 12GA Fox AE that needs new wood. It has a 22 inch cutoff barrel. Since the gun isn't at all collectible and I have two really good 12GA Foxes for hunting, I'm thinking of having a set of rifled barrels installed on the gun. I have a pair of 20GA rifled barrel blanks from V...

Does anyone have AH Fox AE No 29661?
I have a set of 26" 12GA barrels with this number. I bought them from Tom Gibbons who said he sold the gun without remembering that the second set of barrels went with it. It would be nice to put the set back together. I'd be willing to sell the barrels or buy the rest of the gun. allanmckinney...

Re: Custom 20 Ga SW Project in Future?
Regarding spreader loads, I buy RST spreaders and use them in a tight-choked 16GA Fox A grade to good effect. I find that I shoot the right barrel three to one over the left barrel, so the next time I order a few flats, it will be all spreaders. I have enough regular ammo in all shot sizes to last q...

Re: Stock removed Now What?? Pictures/Crack
That is an easy repair by a professional stock man. Not me, I scratch my head sometimes on simpler things. I recommend two places to send the work: One is Clint Meier in MO and the other is Doug Fulton of Stockfixrs in Washington. I have had work done by both of them and they both are really good. D...

I'll add my two cents here. If you don't want that gun for $2500, PM me with the seller's contact information and I'll buy it.

Re: Interesting C Grade
Well, I bought it last night so we'll see what it is once I get it in hand. The seller told me that the dimensions are 2-1/4 X 3 X 14-1/4. I'm thinking restock, but we'll see.
