Thanks everyone, Dewey did an amazing job on this gun, hope to get it out this weekend and try it out.
Spyder, it took quite a while but in Dewey's defense he got quite ill and time was lost to that, luckily he seems to have recovered and is back turning out some excellent and creative work.

Fox XE Restored
Update on the Fox XE I found at the local Trap Club a few years back, posted about it in this thread, http://foxcollectors.com/My%20Forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2782 After thinking about it awhile I turned it over to Dewey Vicknair for a complete restoration , I picked it up today and I don'...

Re: Cutting Barrels
A few years back I picked up an AE and a XE in a 2 for 1 deal, the AE had barrels cut from 30" to 28" but still measured full and mod, bore gauge showed 2" of choke remaining. That AE has turned into one of my best shooters, my original plans were to flip it but instead it sees more u...

Re: Pair Of Fox's Found Today{Update More Pics}
Thought I would throw a picture in of the filled holes under my butt plate. Also wondering if this is the correct grip cap for an AE, looks like horn with no A H Fox like the XE has. http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c314/jorau/DeepCreekFoxGuns062.jpg http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c314/jorau/Dee...

Re: Pair Of Fox's Found Today{Update More Pics}
Researcher, good call on the butt plate, I had it off last night and by the inner finish suspect it is repro, interesting thing is that there are 2 filled screw holes in board of these holes.
Bill, I'm in Carroll county, close enough, will drop you an e-mail, would like to show you the guns.
Thanks

Re: Pair Of Fox's Found Today
Thanks guys, have started to clean them up carefully and they are in better shape than I thought. I'm beginning to think the AE has an older restore, very nicely reblued barrels and the wood redone,maybe even an old restock,work appears to be high quality. The XE is much better than I thought, the m...

Pair Of Fox's Found Today{Update More Pics}
Came across a pair of AH Fox Philly guns today that I took a gamble on and purchased. First is an early A grade,244xx in decent shape, has ejectors,lever just right of center,. wood has most likely been re checkered and you can see a wood dowel in the panel checkering,butt plate I think has been rep...

Ended up fiquring it out,looks like the long part of the J was bent,just required straightening it out and forend fits great. I had been looking for a decent Sterlingworth for quite awhile that I could afford, if they are in any shape at all the sellers seem to be asking pretty high prices. Seems th...

Sterlingworth J Spring[Update Fixed]
Picked up a real nice early pin 12 Guage Sterlingworth,serial # 540xx, today for a very resonable price. Still has some of original case,stock has been refinished and checkering recut,very nicely done. Would have rather had original finish but price was right. Only problem I was able to find is fore...

Hi everyone,new to the forum and new to classic American doubles.I have picked up a nice LC Smith and I am looking for a Fox to go along with it. Was at a local gun show yesterday and found a nice 1910 Sterlingworth 12 guage,seller described it as a Parker pin gun and I see from the main site what t...
