Sterlingworth Disassembly / Assembly
Other than Mike Campbell's excellent procedure on Sterlingworth stock removal I found very little useful information on complete disassembly and reassembly. Having just completed a restoration where I recorded a procedure I would like to offer it to anyone who needs it. It is 13 pages and too long t...

Re: Bluing and Case Color
I incorrectly assumed that early and late might refer to the earlier Fox guns made in Philadelphia as opposed to the later Savage guns made in Utica. 1928/29 would definitely late in Fox production as Savage bought Fox in 1929. When I actually received my gun today I was able to answer my own questi...

Re: Bluing and Case Color
I regularly do rust bluing and have for a number of years now. I have the process and results down pat now and it is no big deal for me and do barrels regularly. I know the process for nitre bluing but haven't done it preferring the rust blue even though the colors are different. Rust bluing is much...

Bluing and Case Color
I will soon begin restoration of a neglected but not badly abused Sterlingworth 12 ga. I know the receiver and bottom plate and screw were case colored, the barrel and trigger guard blued but do not know how the forearm iron was finished in the late 20's to early 30s. I have seen some examples, rest...

Re: Sterlingworth SN and Year
Thanks for the replies. That would put my gun late 1920s to early 1930s, which is close enough for me. Paying for a letter to confirm a particular year between 1928 and 1931 is not of that much importance to me at this point and wouldn't add any more value to the gun. Thanks again to those who repli...

Sterlingworth Disassembly
Other than the stock removable disassembly instructions on the homepage; does anyone direct me to instructions or videos that go beyond that to complete disassembly?

Sterlingworth SN and Year
I recently purchase a Fox Sterlingworth, Philadelphia gun in 12 ga. It is serial number 120855. I have determined that it is a late 1920's gun but can anyone here give me an exact date?
