Great looking guns! Thanks for posting.
I find it interesting that the case colors on the trigger plate of the middle gun is much more mottled than the other two. It just shows that there is some randomness of outcomes in the case hardening process.

Re: Well I tried to take an artsy photo…
Reggie, we fished and hunted at Noontoola. I have friends in the Mineral Springs/Blue Ridge GA area, and we go down there once a year.

12g with 26” IC/IM barrels and weighs 6.5 lbs. Short barrels may not be in vogue, but this gun is quick handling and perfect for quail.

Well I tried to take an artsy photo…
…of some quail and my XE but it didn’t quite work out. The birds were a little stiff and shot up. This was last weekend in Northern Georgia. I also caught a nice rainbow that afternoon!
All together a good day!

Re: Beaver Dam - Who is there and who is going?
Thanks so much Kevin. I’ll let the board know my plans when I know them and if there’s any extra spots available. I’ve had some great hunts in the Tunica area. There was no shortage of spoonbills, though. One time, we were in a blind by a levee, we killed a group of spoonies. Our guide’s yellow lab ...

Kevin, I'm thinking about putting together a hunt there next season. Did you use Beaver Dam Hunting Services or another outfitter? Thanks!

Re: On the Mississippi River…
You’re spot on Kevin. We were in large plastic farm water tanks set into the sand. We normally hunt on Reelfoot Lake which suffered some vandalism this summer. Some teenagers opened the spillway that controls the lake level. As you may know, Reelfoot is really a shallow bayou, and a 1 ft drop in the...

On the Mississippi River…
There were quite a few GW teal, but other ducks were scarce or hard to call in. A lot of pintails flew over high and fast having nothing to do with us. Our group shot 26 GWT. I got a widgeon too but unfortunately didn’t get a picture :( https://www.jpgbox.com/jpg/75652_1024x768.jpg https://www.jpgbo...

Re: How to decock hammers with barrel off
I forgot one thing. The top lever needs to return to the center position first. With a screwdriver, press down on the trip pin located in the slot in the standing breech. This is where the barrel rib extention normaly goes. Once pressed the top lever returns to center.

Re: How to decock hammers with barrel off
To decock, hold a block of wood against the fences and pull the triggers. To recock, locate the cocking arms in the milled out center section of the action flats, insert a large flat screwdriver under the arms and lever them up until they engage the sears. I hope this helps.

Re: Getting the B ready for Ducks
I have a 20g B grade that needs more LOP, and this thread got me motivated to try grinding a recoil pad myself. I thought I’d start with putting a shorter pad on my Super 10 just to get the hang of it. After watching a few YouTube how-to videos, I dove in. I bought a 1/2” pad from CSMC, a Miles Gilb...
