BROKE IN MY NEW TO ME PARKER VHE 20 GAUGE

Post by 1steve7301 »

Today I hunted for the first time my Parker 20 Gauge with 28" ic/mod barrels, and a parker single trigger which works as it should. I purchased it at Hausmans in June. Cody was on fire with about 10 points and many misses by me on Pheasants here in NH, but I managed to knock down my two bird limit. I never tire of seeing him work.

If my health holds up I hope to have a Joranda Setter down the road. I know a guide who has two of them. Range around 100 yards with little handling. Annie sometimes gets way way out there.

Does Cody give you that look when you miss??? Just remember the term "A Fox gets the game". Cody will appreciate you for it. Cody sure is handsome.

Steve, what a nice looking honest Parker and it sounds like she's working out well. Thanks for sharing. Just a side note, so many times now Hausmann's (Northeast SxS) has been the source of good guns whether on or under the tables, or private deals. I also bought a really nice Parker there this June, VH, 16 bore, 28" choked I-Mod and tight Full. She's now sporting full-tapered Lt Mod and I-Mod choking and is ready for birds here in PA. Along with my trusty Fox 20 bore "Vixen". Today starts our grouse season but I have an annual big Fall shindig put on by a long time friend at his farm. Usually about 200 people with ribs and chicken over charcoal pits and shooting all day at his skeet and trap field. No contest on priorities, I've got plenty of time to hunt for grouse along with ringnecks over coming weeks. :) frank

Frank, thanks for the compliment on my Parker. If I were you I would absolutely go to the festivities today and eat and shoot. Life does not get any better than that. This gun was on Steve Cobbs table and it just jumped out at me. Maybe the Parker Single Trigger put some folks off but I like it for its difference and it works as it should. I still prefer double triggers, but something different is not bad at times.
