Re: Fox newbie with a new sterling!!

Re: savage model b .410
The third digit in the oval should be a letter, so maybe it is a "capital i", so that would be a 1957 manufacture.

Re: Philly vs Utica
bravo7490 Going to an east coast event from L.A. to look for guns is far from practical in my book. You will end up spending a high premium with the traveling, lodging, meals and wasted trips coming up empty. Whether you are looking for a Philadelphia or Utica gun, I like both, keep searching on Gun...

Re: Serial number question
I recently purchased a nice Philadelphia AH Fox Sterlingworth. Ser #916xx. Sent a request to Savage Arms this morning for information. Does anyone have an idea as to date of manufacture? Thanks, Arctic Fox Did you receive your Savage Arms letter yet? Just curious how close manufacture date was to 1...

Re: Sterlingworth 30" 20 Ga Gunbroker
I agree. I think I also see very faint "ghosts" of the numbers that were supposed to be removed before restamping the "new serial number", but are still visible. And surprised with the bidders. Maybe they see something, I don't or they don't see something, I do. FoxntheHen...

Re: !6 Gauge w/24 inch full and modified
Most likely started as a 26" barrel. If you could measure the chokes with a good dial or digital bore gauge you could see what the remaining "length" of the actual choke is.

Re: Help ID gun
"A" grade is at the low end, or beginning, of the graded guns, right after the Sterlingworth.

Re: FACTORY LETTERS
For that kind of cash, I would think twice before sending for a letter, especially if it just has the barrel length and when it was shipped.

Re: 26 in brush gun
26" barrels are not rare at all. Price not bad from your description. If the barrels have chokes left in them that fit your needs and you like what you see, I would not spend $45.00 for a factory letter to find out barrel length.

Re: Advice Please for a Fox Newbie
This is my "2 cents worth" and it is probably worth exactly that (2 cents). I think prices are a little high on Guns International. I'm not saying that I've never purchased a gun "online", but they seem high to me. I think its more fun, and a better value, to buy from a fellow F...

Re: Advice Please for a Fox Newbie
As for a price basis, The condition of the gun determines the price, along with, what grade it is. Any modifications, such as replaced stock may hurt value, but that translates to a lower price usually. There are a lot of variables, barrel length, any rust or pitting, dents in the barrel, cracks in ...
