I think they're beautiful guns. Even the lower field grade guns are very tasteful.

Re: The XE came home with me today

I like the checkered butt a lot, it's a classy feature in my opinion. This gun may not be configured the way it left the factory but is still a great gun for a given purpose. The engraving is beautiful too.

Hopefully the tough feelings don't dull your enjoyment of the gun. It is very nice and the work looks top notch!

Re: What's on your Fox shopping list???

Congratulations! I think XE's are the most attractive of the high-grade Fox guns. There have been some nice ones on the market lately, but I haven't found just the right one yet. I keep looking back to the one Josh L. has listed on GI, if only it still had the straight stock and full chokes it left ...

Don't forget Pigeon Guns on the list. I can't own enough 32" strait stock 12 gauges, safety delete even better.

Great Picture! That's a good looking Sterlingworth too, right in the sweet spot where it's both collectable and shootable.

Very nice Craig! How much does it weigh, and what are the stock dimensions?

Re: Disassemble Fox Shotgun

Put the wood back on the forend iron and the whole assembly should snap off. Then the barrels will come off.

Re: Lever left of center

My guess would be that the opening lever was forced to the left by someone who didn't know how to open the gun. That could have twisted the spindle part of the opening lever, or bend the pivot pin of the yoke.
