Re: My buddy

Jimmy

What a nice looking dog, I don't get to see Boykin Spaniels much in our area. A gentleman from our NAVHDA club had one, great dog.

Re: ROUX - Assistant to New Recruit - Margaux

Roux at 8 months - first bird was a solid point, 20 yard shot, second rooster was a challenge, she trailed the bird for about twenty minutes in 50 acres of golden rod and warm season grasses, we were finally able to force him to fly, shot him with 16 gauge Sterlingworth ejector, #5 shot at 30 yds hi...

Re: ROUX - Assistant to New Recruit - Margaux

We added Roux to the household recently, she is 12 weeks old and a lot of fun so far. The heat is killer right now so working on basic discipline and swimming and not jumping on the older dogs. Fall is coming.

Re: New Recruit - Margaux

Glassman48 Unfortunately they are planted adult birds, wild pheasants are a thing of the past in PA. In my county we had wild pheasants into the late 70's. All the family farms went under and what was left reverted to timber or has houses on it. Clean Roundup farming has sealed the rest of deal arou...

Re: New Recruit - Margaux

Margaux - Getting our monies worth from the PA Game Commission pheasant permit, couple days last week. Had to work for them though, in multiflora rose and dense cover, these birds flew like wild ones.

Re: boring/threading 1911 a grade - advice?

Linfdsay2117 You always run the risk of bulging the barrels when choke threading, I speak from experience having a double choke tubed and damaged. I have several loads for spreaders, nothing but a slightly different wad, a small plastic X in the shot cup and an overshot card. With modified and full ...

Tazman

She is great looking pup......always exciting to look forward to training and field days ahead. You are fortunate to have wild birds to expose her to. Post more info & pictures as she grows and progresses.

Re: New Recruit - Margaux

Glassman The dogs come out of the swimming pool smelling great. Our chlorine levels in the pool are not like public pools, so no chlorine issues. The advantage for me is I can swim them every evening and do not have to wash pond or lake water, algae & mud off three fuzzy dogs. There is some dog ...

Cash looks great, sounds like you are being rewarded for your effort and training time with him. Cash probably thinks he won the lotto moving in with your family after living in crate all day.
