Re: My buddy
Stan,
Your assumption is correct, I’m a peach- born and raised! Though we’ve never actually met, you’ve been a gentleman in our limited interactions here. I was relieved to hear of your recovery from your accident and will continue to pray for blessings upon you. I hope you get the chance to get out in the field and knock down some doves and ducks yourself this fall/winter. Best wishes!
P.S.- Boykins are quite prevalent in GA/SC. They originated in SC and are the state dog of SC officially. Kind of the southeast’s little secret, but the word is getting out on them around the country. Scout sired a litter this fall and 4 of the 6 pups are making their way to homes in the Northeastern US. I’ve seen Pam at a few different tests.

What a nice looking dog, I don't get to see Boykin Spaniels much in our area. A gentleman from our NAVHDA club had one, great dog.

Re: My buddy
The Boykin Spaniel Society is the predominate registry for Boykin Spaniels. They publish a quarterly magazine and this winter quarter, they published a story of mine. It features Ansley’s work front and center in the pictures. I didn’t know exactly where to post but since the article is somewhat dog-centric, I figured I would post it here. Also, though it’s not with my Fox, I thought I would post up a picture of Scout from this duck season.

Love the duck hunting picture. Is that a dead woodie?

Re: My buddy
Jim- Thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed it.
Jeff- I agree, it is one of my favorite pictures. Just needed that strap to fill up. It was near the end of season and the hunting was slow. We had one pair come in and this one didn’t make it out. It is a woodie and as my buddy says, it was the “Karen”. Since Mallard hens are Susie’s, he decided Wood duck hens are Karen’s. Why? Don’t know, but it stuck with us this season!

LOL, learn something every day. I’ll have to remember that. We have a lot of “Karens” on our lake.

Re: My buddy
For you Northern fellas, the South is calling to let you know you can have your weather back! Scout grabbed a wood drake yesterday and within 5 minutes, he aged and turned grey on me!

Re: My buddy
Jimmy, if our MI weather today is any indication you should be warming up “Down South”! West MI temps today were in the mid 40’s and melting the snow from the last two storms that came through. If it stays this warm and potential rain coming it will probably melt most of it. Buddy looks like he’s doing great and not minding the cold temps. Great pic!!
