Wow!!!!! I am officially very jealous. I love hunting woodcock, but I haven't flushed one in years. Nice job. Jeff

Wow, that's a super day. We moved a few birds yesterday in Va, but they really aren't here in good numbers yet. That will probably change next weekend as its supposed to get nasty up north.
PS. That is an awesome pic.

Thanks Tom.
I believe I have six in my hand here.

Our guide for the day is also a home brewer of distinction, with his own label which is very appropriate. A fascimile of the very first woodcock stamp.

That is one cool looking bottle. PS. There is a Woodcock brewing Company in New York. Assume zero relation to what you were drinking; http://woodcockbrothersbrewery.com

I'll follow the migration to northern Maryland sometime after the new year for one last outing of the season.

Roger, tell us about the different 16 gauges used - bbl. lengths, chokes, etc. I've had my 16 ga. SKUGG out twice for woodcock but they are not here yet (MD) and haven't got a shot. Thanks, Kevin

Re: Woodcock hunt in South Jersey
I was using my 16 gauge XE Sterlingworth upgrade that I bought from C.O.B, choked IC/IC, in the beginning of this year. For shells, I was using RST lights in 7.5.
My friends Mike and Pat Dolan were using Sterlingworths that I sold to them, one a Philly gun and the other a Utica, both Mod/Full I believe.
The Sterlingworth in the picture above is a recent aquisition. We used it as a prop after passing it around. It was overhauled at CSMC's custom shop. They did a great job.
Below is me with the Sterlingworth/XE upgrade.
