Question on Advertised Savage Fox new Shotguns

Post by 1steve7301 »

I have been seeing the many ads by Connecticut Shotgun for new "Savage Fox" shotguns in various Gauges and barrel lengths including 28 Gauge guns. Are these rebranded RBL's, or guns actually made by Savage?

The contours on the outside are different, but they are basically the same gun.

Savage and CSMC struck some kind of deal They definitely are not Foxes on the inside.

I had two CSMC RBL's one in 20 and the other in 16. I thought that the 16 was too heavy so I sent it down the road of commerce but kept the 20 which I liked a lot even though it had a single trigger. I never thought that I'd get one of the Savage CSMC's but fell into a deal for one with double triggers, so I bought it. With my eyes closed it points just like the RBL and is even a few ounces lighter.

All the engraving is lasered on so IMO it would look better with none.

The new gun is as much a Fox as the Model B was.
