Superfox 31527
Superfox 31527
Courtesy of Bob Beach retired Griffin &Howe historian I learned this gun walked out of A&F in April 1929.Carrying it was BH Scott. Seems he was possibly a well known trapshooter in New York as his name showed up in the results of a 1923 shoot. He was one of the top shooters.Unfortunately it is no longer in original condition but hopefully I can bring it back a little closer to that. It’s been restocked and the entire gun was re-blued.Whoever owned it between then and now also thought that some engraving would look nice.Thankfully the 32” barrels were left alone and it has the 3”inch stamping as well.Showed up on an on-line auction site with a “Buy it now” of less than what I’ve shelled out for some Sterlingworths.Always wanted a Superfox as I think most of us here do but never thought I would be able to afford one.Granted, original condition would have been better but it’s all mine now.Sometime I will get the case colors redone and am thinking about a re-stock with English walnut and a checkering style more in line with a engraved gun.Originally equipped with a pad so that will be replaced as well. First one I’ve ever held and it went boom when I loaded it up.Or should I say Bo-Whoop.Massive gun,I can see why some people get hooked on them.

SPE, "file too big" is an issue I run into on this site too. You have to save the pics in a smaller size. For instance if you go onto your photos on your phone and click on "save" for your pic(s) it will ask for various pixel sizes to save the photo in. Usually small or medium settings will work and you will then be able to post the pics here. Hope this helps.

Re: Superfox 31527
Easiest thing I’ve found is take the pics with my I phone then email them to myself in medium . Put the original pics in a delete file then save the pics I emailed myself back on the phone then they’ll download find on here .Mike of the Mountain wrote:SPE, "file too big" is an issue I run into on this site too. Good story and find! If you wouldn’t mind show us a pic of the floor plate. I’m w/Tom the engraving looks pretty darn good!

Re: Superfox 31527
Any Super-Fox is a good catch. Congrats. Just two observations that might just be the angle at which the pics were taken. It looks like the barrels are off the face, and the forend radius is loose against the frame knuckle. Both relatively easily fixed by a good 'smith if necessary. frank

Frank,
Take another look. I think it is the gap showing the wicker chair though it did look like metal at first glance.
