Hunting over the old waterhole outside of Winchester. Used my Fox SW 16 gauge ejector, 30" barrels choked full/full and RST size 7. Little suckers didn't slow down from last year and my reflexes aren't what they used to be. That said, the gun and myself did ok and my old Golden Abby found many birds that would have been lost without her 12 year old nose.
Well seasoned old dogs doing what they were bred for and long barreled 16 gauge Fox shotguns. It just doesn't get any better than that. Wonderful photos.
WOW.....I hadn't heard about that TJ?? If that one ever gets passed, I'll be paying you boys a visit!!!!
You,me,Jolly and Admin....surrounding the field. XE's only.....LOL!!!!!
Great pics, great gun, great dog....thanks for sharing!!!
Hey, that would work. At any rate, sure would be fun. Now let's hope the tree huggers and PETA will give us a break and let us shoot those doves here in NY before they get to PA and the Silver's Boys where they will Choot 'em.
Actually, it seems there isnt a season in NYS because our NYS Dept of Environmental Conservation doesnt know how to classify the dove...as either a migratory game bird or an upland game bird. Hey, thats what it says on their website.
I guess we wouldn't see a change any time soon here in NY. If ever.
So Tool, I guess we can't get our hopes up on any dove hunting. But for some other reason, be nice to have a get together. Hausmann's 1st weekend in June works pretty good.
