Cheer Up

Post by Jeff S »

It pains me to see everyone so gloomy over the Corona virus situation so I thought I would post one nice picture, just to cheer people up. I chose this category because it involves hunting and "vintage" guns of unknown origin. Personally, I suspect the hunters were "limb-shooters", but I'll let you be the judge. With any luck at all I'll be in Florida this evening. Cheers! Jeff

Uncle Leo with A.H. Fox 16 Ga. A Grade.jpeg
Good evening Jeff,

Hunting with a vintage gun especially an (A.H. FOX 16 Ga. A Grade ) like my uncle Leo sure cheers me up during these rough times! My Dad who was one of his hunting partners took the photo. Dad used an A.H. FOX 16 Ga. Sterly .

Hey Jeff,

Aren't you in Florida now taking a break from Michigan's cloudy and cold weather?

Have fun and enjoy the sun.

Jeff,

That's a cool photo from the good ole days!

Do you have any info on the state/province and date that photo was taken?

The photo is pretty grainy when you blow it up, but it looks like sharptail grouse and ruffed grouse? Perhaps from the northern prairie parklands of the US or Canada?

Thanks for posting!

At least this coincides with turkey season down here . . . assuming they don't cancel that as well

Yes Bill, I’m in sunny Florida enjoying crowded beaches and crowded bars. Scaupman, the first time I pulled up that picture it had a location written on the front, but I can’t remember it. I think it started with a K and when I googled it California popped up. I’ll find out. TY

Dog gone it Scaupman, I can't find that picture on the internet. I even went through my "search history" from the day that I "poached" the picture. However, I do know that it said "Klamath 1917" on the front of the picture. I googled Klamath and found a county in Oregon, but I suppose that there could be others. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.
