Ithaca Factory Letters
I have been advised by the Cody Museum that Ithaca factory letters will be offered by early fall of this year.

Re: Ithaca Factory Letters
Back in 2014 when the Remington Society had its Annual Seminar at Cody I saw large boxes on the receiving racks at the McCracken Research Library from Walter Snyder, but they didn't buy the idea of letting me snoop through them!!

Re: Ithaca Factory Letters
My guess would be $75 same as other letters they offer.Rogue Hunter wrote:And the cost for a letter?

I was not in favor of Walt's donation and told him so. Unfortunately, our friend hadn't found a better alternative. Walt has given me provenance on my meager Ithaca collection while he still had the files, and I am very grateful. His comments about my Sousa Grade Knick were especially valuable to me. Bill Murphy

The latest from Cody:
"We are still working with Ithaca on copyright permissions/legalities at this point. Members of the Cody Firearms Museum are allowed informal searches but we are not yet producing a factory letter."

Re: Ithaca Factory Letters
As a member of the Cody Firearms Museum I sent in for an "informal" search on Feb.18. They told me it would take 24-48 hours. The next day they said it would be 1 week. They mentioned the records are not in any numerical order.
Then after a week went by:
"For now, we don’t have anything specific to your firearm... ...let me continue to work on this, but it is considered extended research at this point; our primary work comes before extended research."
So now it's been a month, so I won't hold my breath, but maybe not so bad compared to the wait for Savage letters.

Re: Ithaca Factory Letters
I just received a factory letter from COLT for a SAA that I wanted more information. Colt uses a very professional procedure that works, you send in your request with no payment, they put your name on a list, when your name comes to the top, they ask for payment, once you pay the letter arrives in the next 2-3 weeks. When it arrives, it comes in a large flat envelope and looks very professional. The cost, $100.00 for the SAA, other models for Colt guns vary.

Re: Ithaca Factory Letters
The Colt letter on my Colt Hammerless Double states that the stocks are -- Wood and that the finish is -- Blue
The only blue I see on the gun is the nitre blued trigger guard and top-lever.
