Last Thanksgiving I was starting a year long project to upgrade a 70 yr old natural gas facility and became acquainted with the senior station operator. He was soon retiring and had a lot of free time to talk guns. One day "Fred" told a tale of a well to do recluse that befriended him and eventually bequeathed him a L.C. Smith with "a bunch of fancy engraving ". A couple of months later Fred pulled me aside and I followed him to a maintenance building where this very nice A2 was laying on a work bench. I was able to spend a couple of enjoyable hours drooling on it before I had to get back to work.
I encouraged Fred to contact the L.C. collectors but I have the feeling the A2 wont be leaving the holler anytime soon.
