Iver Johnson

Post by JasonPeck »

I'm sure we will see many high grade Parkers, Smiths and Lefevers posted in this section, but I have a sentimental attachment to the Iver Johnson Hercules guns.

Here is my 20 gauge. I also have my great-uncle's 12 gauge.

I have a Hercules grade Iver Johnson Supertrap that is just crying out for restoration. Beautiful wood, but it is cracked at the pistol grip and has been drilled and plugged as well. From what I have been able to find out about them, there were not a whole lot made. 410 Hercules or Skeeter with a straight grip is also one I would really love to have.Iver Johnson really used some fine looking wood on those old guns.

Just recently found a Hercules at an auction (at the right price) in need of some TLC, for a winter project. Upon disassembly I was impressed with the quality and design. Seems to be as solid as the other major manufacturers of the time. Not able to find any info on dating the gun but it is a chopper lump with a case colored action so I would suspect it is a later gun. Thanks for the assembly drawing Dave.

I recently acquired a Skeeter 20 ga. W/28” barrels choked/marked CYL and CYL, Miller Simgle Trigger, Straight Stock, BTFE w/ejectors. What’s not to like about that!!!
