Grouse Hunting

Post by MilRob »

Have not been around much but thought I would share a few photos from my fall. Usually out in Montana for a week trip but with young families we stuck around Minnesota and chased the king. Here are a couple of pics of our trip.

By-gawd I LOVE the wood on that gun!

Was out today. There are a lot of woodcock (splash) in central Minnesota.

Working on a bottle of Blanton's as I type this.

You did well for sure. Looks like fun. Goes without saying that the wood on that gun is exceptional. :)

Milrob, great pictures and hunt. Your dog in the one picture looks like he is giving the evil eye to anyone who comes close to the birds and gun! I wish I was there. That's where I grew up hunting Ruffed Grouse! Jim

Thanks for the photos MilRob. That's some spectacular grouse and woodcock cover you're hunting in. Very pretty gun too. Thanks.

Got for a bit yesterday. Found the grouse were a little spooky but managed to find a few. Took one nice bigger male in the middle of an old growth.

That "Finn" is a great little hunting dog. How old is he? Jim

He is 4. My springer is 6 and I have a retired cocker at 13.5. I am facing the harsh reality that his end is coming very soon.
