I must shop in the wrong places...
Just saw a little write-up about an A.H. Fox 20ga A grade in The Upland Almanac. Not a for sale ad; I guess you'd call it a gun review piece. The author gave a little Fox Company history, then said that the example he was referencing was a bit rough; some dings in the stock, some surface rust (didn't look to me like anything some steel wool and oil wouldn't cure), faded case and blue, etc. Only one picture, but it looked like a gun that could be cleaned up into a nice shooter.
He said in its present condition the gun would probably bring $600 or $800, but that if the wood was refinished and the colors restored it could bring $1200 to $1800 (I'm quoting the numbers from memory here).
Now, gun in hand, maybe I'd have a different opinion. But from the photo and his description, I think I'd like to shop for used guns where he shops!

Researcher, the Sousa Special on shotgunworld was not bottom feeding. I was searching the net for a Christmas gift for The Lovely Linda when the Sousa just popped up on the screen. As far as bottom feeding goes, I paid nearly the asking price. Not a bad shooter.
