I have a Fox that has ejector problems. They will not recock when the forend wood is in place, but work perfectly with the forend iron on the gun minus the wood. Looked into it further and found that the little web of wood that comes up from the botton rear of the forend wood, between the ejector sears, and that the long forend iron screw angles back through, is broken almost completely off. I believe this was pulling up into the sears and keeping them from recocking somehow.
Now, to repair it. I am considering replacing that little web of wood with a new piece of walnut. Right now, my best plan seems to be to carefully make the new piece with a dovetail base, like a rifle sight, but longitudinally. Then, carefully inlet it into the bottom of the forearm wood into a dovetail cut I will make. It will be epoxied into place. I believe the increased size of the base, by having a dovetail, will increase my adhesion area for the epoxy and also lend strength by fitting it carefully.
Any of you guys ever done a repair like this, and care to offer any advice? I hate to scrap this beautiful forend just because of that tiny piece of wood broken out.

Re: Forend repair ?
Due to excessive rains I have not been able to harvest but one day out of the last two weeks, so I got another gun repair project done. I dovetailed the piece of walnut into the forend wood like I described above, and it worked very well. Redrilled the hole for the long screw, stained it to match the rest of the f/e wood, put a little TruOil on it, and she's good as new. We're going to shoot a round of sporting clays together tomorrow morning.
