Fox Shotgun Information

Post by Rusty_S »

I can not find no information on this fox shotgun I have. Its a one owner never been fired and its from the mid 1970`s I would say. Im sure its a fox cause it has a fox engraved on the under side of the gun just above the trigger guard between the trigger guard and the forward wood hand grip. I want to say its a 12 ga but I might be wrong on that. Its a double barrel side by side shotgun, has double triggers and right now its locked up so can not really get to the gun to look for markings and such right now but the only number I can make out is on the left side of the gun and it either says D145686 or D145688. Im just curious as to more information about this gun and what year it is what model fox gun it is and just about anything I can find. Thanks in advance

Rusty, glad to have you . Welcome! Your gun is a Fox by name only. Savage bought out AH Fox in late 20s and made some original Fox guns, then dropped them and brought out the model that you have. It is a Fox model B. Bobby

Hi Rusty,
Also welcome. Your Fox model B is really a Stevens 311 remarketed by Savage starting in 1940. Unlock it, take it out, shoot it, and enjoy it.
Best Regards
