I typically do not mind refreshed wood but shy away from restored case colors and bluing but in a moment of weekness this lightweight 16 A seduced me. What sold me was its' lightweight and IC / IM 28 inch barrels with a slight cast on perfect for a lefty like me.
I can't wait for a chance to go grousing with it. Swinging it around it is amazing how much better the cast on feels.
It is a Philly gun with a real slim wrist too.
I'm curious what the weight swing is. The 16 gauge Sterlingworth's I have seen a bit heavier. This one feels like a svelte 20.

What do the barrels weigh and the overall weight of the gun? My 16 gauge A grade extractor gun weighs in at 6 pounds even with 3 weight barrels and is about as lively as any gun I have ever picked up.
Nice gun!! I'd be willing to bet that those Remington Express and Peters High Velocity shells are a bit more than the A.H. Fox Gun Co. was thinking about when the built a light 16-gauge with a thin wrist. However, I'd also bet that all the guns which have seen regular use over the last 90 years have digested their fair share of such loads.
Used my A 16 this weekend, 2 shots-2 pheasants. I did a partial redo on it. I had the wood refinished and recheckered, and had the barrels blued. I left the wonderful silver patina of the reciever alone. It had no buttplate, ao I had a nice pad put on.
It definately is more lively/lighter than my 2 Sterlingworth 16's, I believe it weighs 6 lbs 2 oz. Those Philly A grades are tuff to beat, and I would be hard pressed to ever part with it. Yours is a beautiful gun.
