Repair codes

If an older Fox was returned to the Factory or Savage for repair, re-barreling, Choke work, stock work etc. Was the gun somehow marked?
Thanks Al

In the later years, when Savage began insisting on 2 3/4 inch chambers, the guns were rechambered to 2 3/4 inch and proofed before any other work would be done. If the gun wouldn't pass proof a new set of barrels would have to be fitted at 10% off list price as a matter of customer good will. Ending up with markings like these on the barrels --

or complete barrels like these --
