Re: 2014 Central Pa SxS shoot
Only a few days left until the shoot. The weather so far is holding up. Partly cloudy in the am, and partly sunny in the pm. High temp near 60 degrees.
We're planning on having a group picture at 9:00 am. I'm suggesting shooters shoot the sporting clays and wobble trap in the morning, have lunch, then shoot the 5 stand in the afternoon. Blue Ridge has a very challenging 5 stand.
Usually after the shoot is over a bunch of us go to Arroga's sports bar for wing and other things. Their wings and pulled pork are outstanding.
See you there!
Chuck

Re: 2014 Central Pa SxS shoot
I'd like to thank Chuck for organizing this shoot. It was good to see old and new friends. The weather was cloudy with a little sun, windy, temps in the higher 40's but no rain. There were about 30 shooters when I checked the signup sheet before heading out with friends Daryl, Dave, Harry and Larry. We were the last of the early flight out and had a blast. Targets were very good and a liitle on the stiff side, no cupcakes. Most of the shooters fielded Parkers and L C Smiths, and that signup sheet only had two Fox shooters (Dick and Frank) and we were tied with a foreign maker for last place showing.
Possibly another Fox or two showed up later. Or maybe a N.R. Davis or similar showed up later and we moved up to next to last place?
The back room had some nice guns for sale including a good Fox smallbore, and it was gone when we came back in. Craig Libhart and Dewey Vicknair were there. I had a chance to talk with Dewey about that 20 gauge Fox Paradox he posted here on another thread. And Craig and I exchanged some work. Again, a huge Thank You to Chuck Bishop for his efforts in setting up and communicating this event.

Frank, It was great to shoot with you and see all the old friends. I agree the course was a bit tougher than last year but we sure had a great time and a few good natured laugh's.Chuck sure does a great job with this shoot. I couldn,t end this post with out congratulating you on that wonderful XE you were shooting. Simply stunning.....See you at Ernie's. Dave....
Re: 2014 Central Pa SxS shoot
Well you know I couldn't let that smallbore stay on the table long Frank. It was really tighly choked, so very convenient to have Dewey there to take it back to the shop!
Wasn't able to attend myself but my dad said it was a fun event filled with many gentlemen. Unfortunately he didn't get to see your straight gripped X. Hopefully next time. Many thanks to Chuck as well.

Re: 2014 Central Pa SxS shoot
My thanks to everyone that attended. Really, I don't do anything other than set a date and advertize it on the various associations web site. Blue Ridge does the rest so they should get the credit. They enjoy hosting us.
I tell Zip, the target setter, to lighten up on the targets for us poor to average SxS shooters. He says he does but his definition is different than mine. You should hear the comments on the 5 stand targets. Challenging to say the least.
My camera's battery went dead, if anyone took pictures, please post them.
P.S. I'm still cold!

My understanding is that it was sold before it got there, but I'll let the new owner tell the story

"Just" a carried-often, shot-little Philly Sterly 16 with 28s. Appears all original, lever far right, under 6lbs, and not too much drop.
