Fox C Grade guns normally have cheek checkering that look like this one. Front edge of checker panel is parallel with the back end of the frame,
But there were a very few C Grades made with heart-shaped checkering that looks like this:
So far I'm aware of three CE's with the heart-shaped checkering. One is a 20 gauge pictured on page 136 of MM's Fox book. And two 12 gauge guns, both are straight grips. I'm doing some study on these C Grades with heart-shaped checker panels and I'd greatly appreciate it if anyone owning one would post its details here, or send a PM or an email to me at: silvers897(at)yahoo.com
Please let me know its serial number. You can use an X for the last digit if that suits you. If you use an X for that last digit, please also tell me if a straight grip, and extractors or ejectors. Thanks everyone.

In the "heart-shaped" example(s),the radii of leading edge of the panel checkering reflects and compliments the leading edge of the grip checkering, resulting in a really elegant look. It is artistic touches like this, that set these guns apart. Thank you Frank for bringing this to light.
