My Christmas, almost miracle.
Found some 32" ejector A grade barrels for my XE that had been chromed, chopped and otherwise abused.

Went to fit them to the XE receiver, thinking of the hours of fun before me. They magically dropped into place. The draft angle is correct, they are tight on face, all bearing surfaces show good engagement with smoking in, and lever is slightly to the right.
The forend lug and ejector stems had to be filed down slightly to fit the forend. One barrel is an exact fit to the frame ball and the other is undersized by a tiny amount (this will get built up if I decide to engrave the barrel wedges).
The AE barrels were about 700 later in serial number.
I am very excited to have the XE in shape to shoot. The chrome removal and restock can wait while I have some long range fun.
I have bought a lottery ticket since then (didn't win).
Almost Christmas Miracle: Drop in Replacement Barrels

Bobby - I don't suppose you will be returning that gift. How long have you had the X? Finding replacement parts is a long term commitment.

I got the XE earlier this year. Had some other barrels (non ejector) that I was going to fit and convert to ejector. But I couldn't resist getting the 32" ejector barrels, when I saw them.
Removing the chrome, re-case coloring and restocking will be happening over the next year or two.
Draft angle is between the water table and the breech wall (main angle of the receiver).
