At $70.00, I doubt it, although I bought some from Tony some time back. I doubt that they we $70.00 when I bought mine. New England Custom Guns, 6-48 screw in, mammoth ivory, two sizes, $13.00.

Bought several from Brownells but it's been a while; don't know if they still offer them.

Eightbore, I just jumped on the NECG website and they don't show any ivory beads; do they still offer them? Also, do you know if the 6-48 will fit my Savage-era Sterlingworths? I tried to find out here once but don't believe I ever got an answer.

It's like pulling teeth to find the ivory beads but they are there. I somehow got to a "products list" and there they were. Don't know about the size of the hole, but the beads can be filed to press in fit for a lot less than the Tony price. You can also buy nice ivory beads cheap from Boone Trading (35 cents for 3MM, 65 cents for 4MM). However, you have to figure out an attaching screw to fit through the holes. I keep a few of them around just in case, but have never used one. I bought ivory from Boone Trading for inlays in my Bo Whoop Repro.

Thanks for the replies and help. Picked up the gun today and the front sight is a taper fit which I expected. A 7/64 drill bit fits into the hole. The csmc bead is a bigger diameter than that. Might try brownells

Why could the NECG threaded sight not be sized to be driven into the hole? $13. The NECG sight is also available from Brownell's.

That's exactly what I was thinking and just ordered 2 of the 4 mm. Figure I can sand it down until it fits and epoxy it if I need to.
