Fox Gunsmithing Referral...
Fox Gunsmithing Referral...
I am new to the forum, but was told about a gunsmith for my gun and wanted to see if anyone had experience with them... Recently I picked up a 12 gauge Sterlingworth Skeet and Upland with single trigger and ejectors. When test firing the gun I realized the gun was going on safety between shots. Not being familiar with the gun I thought I was doing something wrong, but after working with it I realize it was actually going back on safety between shots with the single trigger. It also has one ejector that works inconsistantly. I talked to Galazan's and they recommended a gunsmith from CT called Gunsmithing Limited and the name Mitch Schultz. Has anyone had any experience with them and how has it worked out for you? Any help would be appreciated...

Don't know that company or person. Where might you be located because perhaps we can make a recommendation then.

Thanks for the help! I live about 75 miles south of St. Louis, Missouri... I have used a gentleman named Buck Hamlin to restore my LC's in the past. He was not as comfortable with the Fox I could tell, especially with singe trigger and ejectors. Thanks for the input!

Buck is one of the best out there for sure and I'm surprised he didn't want to tackle this. Given Bucks concerns' I'd probably try the fellow Galazan's recommeded. I would have recommended a few other guys, but they are big time backed up with work already.pmonty74 wrote:Thanks for the help! I live about 75 miles south of St. Louis, Missouri... Re: Fox Gunsmithing Referral...
I talked to Buck recently about fitting a set of Fox barrels to an older receiver and timing the ejectors. He allowed as how that was not his forte', and recommended Keith Kearcher. Keith fitted the barrels in under two hours. Perfectly, too.
I very much appreciated Buck's honesty. As Eastwood said, "A man's got to know his limitations".

Not sure if you've resolved this yet but for anyone who searches in the future, Mitch Shultz has been fantastic to work with. Friendly, fair, and timely with repairs.
