I recently picked up a nice old early The Sterlingworth Co. Philly pin gun that needs a bit of rehab. Metal is good, a little case left, no pits. Barrels seem original, 28 mod & full.
Stock has been repaired a few times could use a new one I suspect. Looking forward to spiffing her up and getting back into the field; what is missing (actually broken off) is the flat curved ( Baker style?) spring that holds the forend on. The spring is broken at the 1st curve as it hangs down.
Any possible ideas where to find a replacement, or to find specs. as to size, etc.? I would take a crack at making one but can't find a pic or dimensions in the McIntosh book.
This is my 3rd Fox gun, have always loved them ,and have been viewing here for a long time. Finally had an excuse to join the forum and Collectors assoc.
Best
